About Us

The USA-DRC Diaspora for Congolese Voices is an NGO registered in Orlando, Florida. We have the sole objective of promoting the socioeconomic development of the DR Congo and professional flourishing of its people. We aim to achieve this by identifying, mobilizing, and connecting Congolese intellectuals and skilled professionals with individuals in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in order to implement impactful and innovative projects.

Our organization strives to enhance the United States' global leadership across all sectors by fostering the dynamic integration of the Congolese diaspora within the USA. This integration, in turn, aims to cultivate the spirit of the American dream in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We believe that this will foster peace and security of an integrated and prosperous country.

Our Strategy

Capacity Building

To guarantee the holistic resolution of problems and improve the quality of life in the DRC, it is extremely important to share expertise from the Congolese diaspora in the USA. This is achieved by ensuring that capacity-building initiatives include the diaspora's input to relevantly address cross-cutting issues and promote collaboration, cooperation, and consensus among communities, specifically through:

  • Fostering cooperation and developing small industries and telecommunications.

  • Providing training within upgrading frameworks.

  • Seeking funding opportunities for small and medium-sized companies.

Wealth Creation

Poverty will endure without the active and conscious involvement of disadvantaged populations, and understanding this issue as fundamentally moral and intellectual rather than purely physical, USA-DVC aims to help the poor generate wealth. Our approach moves beyond short-term tangible asset contributions, focusing instead on entrepreneurial training, fostering industrial growth, and advocating for reforms that improve the business environment. Furthermore, we aim to supports local wealth creation initiatives with mentoring programs, as well as the creation of a labor bank and a labor exchange.

Satisfy Basic Social Needs

Addressing the fundamental social needs of the population—education, healthcare access, and safe drinking water—is crucial for any wealth creation strategy intended to eradicate poverty. This includes building and equipping schools, constructing local clinics, pharmacies, dispensaries, and maternity hospitals, alongside the development of roads and other infrastructure.

Investment in Agro-Pastoral Production

Addressing hunger and malnutrition in the Congo requires actively involving young men and women in agricultural and pastoral production. This can be achieved by:

  • Establishing agricultural partnerships with the international agricultural community and utilizing American expertise.

  • Implementing comprehensive agricultural training for Congolese farmers.

  • Promoting livestock development, given the country's abundant livestock potential.

Investment in Research and Innovation

We aim to foster academic cooperation between the USA and the DRC and to invest in promoting research through partnerships with high-tech providers of digital information and innovation in sectors such as health, education, agriculture and livestock, and the environment. Given the country's developmental challenges, substantial progress will only be achievable through significant investment in these fields, a task that will be undertaken in partnership with development partners.

Communication and Advocacy

Our advocacy efforts will center on highlighting activities that support the country's development. We will emphasize the Congolese unified and indivisible nature in order to promote and enhance the image of the DRC, free from misleading stereotypes.

Promotion of Arts and Culture

Culture is the defining element of a people, and on the world stage, the DRC has a fundamental right to exist and be recognized. Therefore, it is important for the USA-DVC to actively promote and value Congolese arts and culture both in the USA and globally.

  • Structure & Mobilize

Structure and mobilize the Congolese diaspora in the USA and across the globe, as well as friends of the Congo, by focusing on themes and projects of mutual interest that will contribute to the development of the DRC.

  • Be a Bridge

By serving as a trusted bridge and facilitating connections between the cultural sphere, American businesses, and the DRC, we aim to amplify the DRC's international presence worldwide.

  • Be an Ambassador

Elevate the global image of the DRC among Americans and the wider world, while also identifying, promoting, and valuing the talents and skills within the Congolese diaspora both in the United States and internationally.
